Bird sitting Shirin's Bunny [Grey]  Reply with quote

Shirin brought Bunny over Saturday; early evening. It was a pleasure to finally meet Shirin in person. She is soft spoken & so lovely.

Bunny so far has been a perfect guest - although tonight she & Rio got into a calling contest at bed time.

Check out my latest Diary page - I am documenting Bunny's stay.

Ohhhh Jac! I saw your Diary page this morning, and it just made my day! Feather I'm soooo so so happy that her stay is working out and that you guys are enjoying her. She seems totally relaxed and at home, taking a bath and everything!!! I can't thank you enough, I knew that you would take great care of her, and I was right. Smile

I had a good chuckle about her being an almond addict Very Happy I think she gets that from her mommy Laughing

I'm having a really great time here in California, it's beautiful, and the weather is amazing! Cool

Glad you caught the thread - took your direction about posting on Fluffies. Very Happy

Bunny is quite the character. She is quite brave, from what I've heard of Greys. She almost always tries what I offer her. I hope you don't mind but she got some scrambled egg on Sunday, a variety of tastes [a few pieces] of cereals Monday & some pieces of French toast this morning. I put a flat plastic dish on top of the cage & put these foods in there, along with smallish pieces of apple & broccoli - when I'm cooking. She gobbled up the egg & French toast - no problem. [her portion had no syrup]

Glad to hear your trip is going well.

Oh & by the way - Bunny & My Budgies have a thing going on. Of course I don't want them to meet but each morning & evening they call out to each other [or egg each other on, I can't been sure] Tonight Laker didn't want to go to bed - he was in my son's room singing to Bunny & she was calling to him. Does she do this with your other birds? Maybe she misses them?

Ah yes, Bunny loves eggs! And it's great that you're giving her different foods. Recently I've been so busy with work and school that I haven't had that much time to cook, so it's nice that she's getting more variety now. Yeah, she is pretty good about trying new foods, and I'm actually quite amazed that she's so relaxed with you guys, so quickly! Normally she can be a little shy to start off with.

Oh my, the thing with your budgies! I hope she's not being to loud for you Confused She does do that with my lovebirds too, and also with me.. like she likes making different noises and whistles, and then she waits for me to copy her, so we'll do it back and forth. :p

Today she got French toast, Popcorn, pistachio nuts, celery, broccoli, some cereal & grapes. Of course the usual almonds. I made sweet potato tonight but she either was too full or didn't want it.

She flew 2 x's today. Once when I was cleaning [no offense but the cleaning part is way more than 2 Budgies! Shocked Laughing ] The second time when my son came home. She isn't very 'warm' towards the guys. They make her take a tall stance when they walk by. But she still accepts almonds from them.

Yesterday I had a migraine - the birds were great. Today I am tired. I had to do laundry so I asked Bunny to wait in her cage. She reluctantly went in. When I came back I saw about 7 feathers on the cage floor. Each day there are about 3 on the floor. I am keeping a close eye on her. None this evening.

My husband is a bit tired of all the bird chatter. Normally he naps after lunch but Rio & Bunny were really loud today. He'll get over it but I think he'll be looking forward to the Budgies quieting down.

Do you give her Red Palm Oil? I don't have any.

We had a beautiful day today - I went for a long walk. I was able to open the windows too & we had a nice breeze thru the apartment. Bunny isn't in a drafty spot.

I relocated her triangular bottomed swing. When I went to get it she ran over & gave my hand a squeeze. I think she thought I was going to hurt or steal it. I talked to her & she backed off. I was able to hang it - for the daytime - above the cage from a screw that's in the ceiling. I fussed with it & she accepted the new location. She 'croaked' as I got it down last night to put back in her cage. She was not concerned today at all.

Hope your holiday is going well.

Jac

glad you're having so much fun on your holiday. Did you go meet up with that dude? or did you go with friends shirin?

Bunny sure sounds like she's having so much fun with Jac! Very Happy good job there Jac. hehe.. I'm guessing the little budgies are loving another 'noise' from the other room... hehe.

oh and Shirin, you're working now? that's cool. where are you working at if I may ask? oh and yeah, i've been meaning to get those photos to you on a CD. I need a postal address!!! Very Happy easier this way than reducing photos and sending via email. Smile

It is very cool. Bunny has been a lot of fun. The Budgies are getting a bit over the top - I guess they aren't getting the attention they are used to or they think/now another bird is in their territory. Laker disciplined me yesterday & Rio is even more friendly.

Bunny is into flying a lot, now that she is more confident in our living room. She flies about 4 times a day, around the room maybe 3 times. Thankfully she poos before she tries - so far. Laughing

My camera won't capture the flying but I did post some photos of her landing spots. Rolling Eyes Here's my son offering her a treat.
