i have a question at you both...
why do you keep so much different spezies?
two parrots of the same spezies can unterstand each other, so they are much happier.
@Jrmno1 you have very nice birds on your hompage. are that really all yours? where do you keep them all? have you got pics of your aviaries?
@fluffy Sue i like your parrots too, they look all really good! especially the Major Mitchell`s Cockatoo is very nice, i love this spezies!
but very sad makes me the lovebird... is it really alone? please buy a second lovebird, i think all parrots need a partner, but especially the lovebirds... if you think of the name, you see what i mean
in germen they called "unzertrennliche"
you're from the netherlands, can you speak german? |

Have you looked over our home page? Why would we lie about such a thing. Our Avaries are our house, True we work hard to care for our birds, but it is a work of love, for each and every one. I am sorry if you do not consider us responsable bird onwers, I am truly sorry for you. The world of owning birds is as wide as it is deep. If we all were the same (including the birds) What a dull world that would be. I take petty on you for your inablity to see this world...

Hi and welcome. It is nice that you can keep your greys in a room like that. Most of us on the forum have cages for our birds to be in while we cannot watch. The birds get let out when we are home. It is sometimes hard to give them a room just to themselves. I have heard stories about birds chewing through the drywall and then getting to the electrical wire with awful results. Also, drywall and paint is not good for them to be eating. It is very costly to have someone come in and make a bird safe room in a lot of homes. You are lucky that your walls are brick in your bird room.
The other thing, social animals(including us) are not born knowing how to communicate amongst each other. If birds are handraised by people, they will bond with people. You do not need to have 2 birds of the same species in order for them to be happy. There have been numerous incidents where different species of birds bonded with each other. Lovebirds too do not need to be kept in pairs if they are tame and you have the time to spend with them. Lovebirds were originally called lovebirds early into their discovery because bonded pairs would cuddle up very close to each other. If someone doesn't work long hours and has lots of toys in the cage, a lovebird can be very happy bonded to its human companion. I hope that puts things into a new prespective for you.
I know it can be hard sometimes to say things the way you want them to sound. I actually came here from Poland when I was very young so my English is fine. My parents on the other hand, sometimes they say things all wrong still. Just keep working at it and eventually you will get better!

No, stay! I know it is hard to find the right words. What looks right in the dictionary may not mean what you thought, I know. I once horrified my German teacher with the way I used "Fraulein." She scolded me, "Never use "Fraulein" that way again!" I think I must have accidently called my friend a prostitute!

Do you have some research to support this theory? Cats and dogs can be great companions for each other. Goats are often kept as companions for race horses. We had a cat and a fish that adored each other. I know a macau who spends all his time with a conure rather than another of his own species. Also, there is that famous gorilla that speaks sign language and has a special cat friend. Maybe there is something extra special about cross species relationships.
P.S. What is icq? |
