I have my bird now over 10 years and he always has been healthy. Latlely I have noticed that he has some loose droppings, and now what I beleive I just saw today was a little regurtation. He will have loose droppings and then they are normal like the next dropping he has been eating the same and acting the same and talking up a storm as usual. I have read everything possible on this site, does anyone have any suggestions... Very concerned
Thank you |

What do you feed your parrot? Parrots are sensitive for some ingredients. Sometimes it can happen that for years everything seems to be going ok., but then problems start. If, for instance, they are on a seed diet, it can happen that pesticides, used by growing the seeds, have accumulated in the parrot's liver and cause shrinking of that organ. Many people here in Holland for instance still feed their parrot a traditional seed diet. But there can also be dangerous additions in some pellet brands, for instance artificial colorings etc. On the forum about food there is a list with the most harmful ingredients in several well known pellet brands.
I think the first thing you should do, is go and see a specialized avian vet. In fact every parrot should be checked once a year. |
