Where did you get him? Are there any yellow rings around the pupil? If it's all one color he is fairly young but if the yellow rings are present he is atleast over a year. Does he have a band on his leg? You can trace it and that might lead you to some great info on him...Good Luck! Pam |

hi pam,
thanks for your reply, we got him about 1 week ago we bought him from a pet shop ,
i was told that it was a male and he was only 12-18 months old ,
i dont know much about them but have finally bought one after a long time saving !!
so im not quite sure if he is male or female and age ??? he has a small yellow ring aound his eyes
he wont let me get to close as he makes growling noises but the man at the petshop said he would calm down when he gets used to his surroundings, so any info you can give me i would be so great full
regards

Sorry for my delayed response..
Your grey COULD be older, but you can't be sure about this.
Perhaps with endoscopy? (I'm not sure if this is possible?)
How's your grey doing today? |

Suzie- It takes a long time to get a grey to settle in and trust people, they are a very cautious burd..extremely nervous and untrusting..even as a baby...my hubby's grey doesn't like me at all and he was handreared and used to see me everyday..more than my hubby did but he took to my hubby right away! Bites me alot and will if I try to get him out of his cage! So, they do take a long time to warm up!
Go very slow with him and maybe read out of a book to him while sitting on a chair next to his cage and do this for awhile and talk to him and try to offer a treat and get him to eat out of your fingers but go very slow, especailly if he is growling. Try this and see how it goes but remember take it very slow and be consistant with him. Please keep us updated on your progress and feel free to ask any other questions that you might have latwr on...Good Luck! Pam |
