Is she preening it? or is she just sticking her toes in her mouth? My cockatoo love to preen his toe nails.

Yep, she's just grooming her nails Very Happy My Grey does it all the time too. As long as she doesn't start chewing her skin to the point where it bleeds, it's normal.

They like to preen their feet. I've also learned that, especially greys, they will bite their nails if they're nervous. I really wouldn't worry about the white under her nails.

the right foot always..!!!  Reply with quote

Mostly her right foot. All the time she licks it with her tongue and no she does not draw blood. I thought may be cuz this is the foot she holds food with so it is easier to hold up and she like to clean it.. May be????

I personally think that birds are left or right "handed" therefore using one foot more than the other to do things. This is probably why she is messing with her right foot, she's right handed Very Happy
