| Old bird new tricks |

Hi
My parents have a grey that’s about 19yrs; he was one of the last wilds to be imported. He's been a family pet for years and typical grey he treats us all different.
I can get the closest to him, scratch his head in or out of the cage but I can't hold him. Is it too late to train him? He does talk but not as much as he used to because of people whistling at him, again is it too late for him to change?
I appreciate any advice.
Cheers

Hi bemendozer,
welcome here..
It's never too late to train birds.. They're so intelligent that they can easily adapt..
The grey here was also wildcaught (probably) and we also managed to train him in quite a short time..
Can I ask if his wings are clipped? |

I agree with Sue, it's never too late. The only thing is, the older they are the more time it takes to train. My yellow nape amazon, Chaquita, she's 26 years old and I've only had her for 4 months now. I've managed to teach her a few things in our short time together.[/url] |
