Hey Debbie, welcome to the board.

In my opinion, the best way to bath a bird is the the best way the bird enjoys it. Basically I'm saying that try out different ways to bath your bird (I'm assuming he's Simon??). Try misting him, or stick him under a running shower (either with you when you're showering or not), or if you have a bath, put the bird in a partially filled bath tub. It depends on the bird and what they like best. If I drag my Apollo into the shower with he, he'll end up looking like a real drown rat, and he wouldn't be a happy chappy for awhile, or at least until he's partially dried. Apollo loved being misted with garden water spray. He doesn't mind the occasional bath tub. Some birds go nuts over dripping water from the tap as well. None of my bird would bath like that though. Some bird would even bath in wet lettuce or celery leaves. So basically I'm saying try it out and see what Simon loves best and what works best for him. good luck. Keep us posted with how it goes. Cheers

Bih

Well Simon got his first bath with a spray bottle. He was sitting on his perch that is attached to the door. I had it open. He allowed me to spray him a few times then quickly climbed into his cage. I wish he would act like my one cockatiel, booboo. He lifts one wing and then the other directing me where to spray. Yogi the other cockatiel I have to chase around the cage.

How about spraying in another room, outside the cage?

I simply use a sprayer for my greys, one loves it and the other hates it. My quaker loves to shower with me, which the family finds amusing, and the tiels, budgie, and lovebird love their water bowls. I do want to start getting the greys used to the shower so I will start with Otis, who loves the sprayer and slowly work my way with Samson, hates water!
