the nipping will stop as soon as he starts to trust you and learns what is ok and what not. there is no rule that at a certain age the nipping will stop. you will have to train it as soon as possible. it is normal that he nips as he has to explore his world and find out how things feel and taste like. just tell him straight NO when he nips again. try to distract him with a toy or a strange sound to avoid his nipping, as soon as you see that he wants to nip again. it will take time. it doesn't stop from one day to the other. but africans are clever and soon he will understand what is ok and what not.
just take your time and be patient.

lost feathers  Reply with quote

Hi! Its been awhile. Hope all is good. Hey, I was wondering, is it normale for greys, or any bird to loose feathers sometimes? Like those little white fuzzie ones? Not a full feather. I'm just nervous about plucking. He might be starting to molt? I've just been noticing more lately when I'm vacuming/cleaning the house.

you worry too much. it is very normal that he is loosing some feathers. it is like us loosing our hair when we brush them. when he is plucking you can see bold places.
what you can do , if he is really plucking is boil garlic in water and than use this water for drinking. the bad taste will make him stop from plucking, but you bird is ok. he is only cleaning himself and loosse feathers fall out. it is very normal. don't worry
