Simon is finally talking!! Funny you should ask what age. Something was wrong with his right eye and I took him to the vet. The vet said he had a sinus infection. While I was there I thought I'd ask if he could take the metal band off him. When the doctor looked at it he said he had not seen one of these in 10 t0 12 years it was a quarinteen band. This would mean that Simon is at least 10 years old. The store, Pet Smart where I bought him in St. Catharines said he was about 8 months old. That was this past May. I am quite mad. If I was sold an older bird he was probably previously owned but I paid the price of a young bird. I would not trade Simon for anything but I think I'm going to stir up some trouble for that store. Back to Simon. I have to give him antibiotics for the next 10 day and hopefully the swelling will be gone. If he is still not well I'm not sure what I will do because he would have to have further tests that I can't afford right now. Just got layed off. So I hope the medicine works!!
I wish one of my daughters had decided to be a vet!! My love of animals is going to put me in the poor house.

Debbie, are Simon's eyes still Grey, or are they yellow? You could tell the difference between an old bird and a baby right away by the eye colour. I can't believe they would tell such a huge lie to you! Mad Actually I can! So typical of a store like pet smart! Make sure you do stir up some trouble for the store, you should demand for a partial refund and have them charge you whatever it is that they charge for a previously owned bird.

I'm sorry to hear about Simon's sinus infection Sad poor little guy, I hope it clears up in no time.

Oh no! You got laid off from your job?! That really sucks Rolling Eyes Hopefully you'll find something else soon. I'll be praying for Simon, I'm sure the medication will work, and hopefully you won't have to go back for more tests. Let me know of his progress, also update me on the hell you plan on raising at Pet Smart Wink
