Shirin

Your CAG hates water so bad... She will try her best to run as far as fast as she can and scream bloody murder as loud as she can if I try or even think about getting her wet. But just when you think you have them figured out they do this to you http://www.fluffies.org/en/flu.....vie_id=101

Awwwwwww, my computer can't load your movies!!! What happens?

My parrotlet hates baths, too. Her breeder, like Chaquita's Mom, said to view it like a kid's complaints. I tried everything to make it fun, but the bird was allowing her beak to sink harder into my skin each time I gave her a bath (every three days). Then came her first molt (four months old). She was miserable with all those itchy pinfeathers. I took her outside, and, using a mist bottle of warm water, soaked her to the skin. This was the first time she was ever really sopping wet). Then I preened her head with my fingers while she dried so she would see a big difference, and gave her a pinch of seeds. I decided to repeat this every day during her molt. She must have felt better because she quit trying to bite me for bathing her and sometimes chirps when she sees the water bottle. But she still hates a bath! Any ideas on how to make it fun? (I wish I could take a movie for you of her scurrying to get away from the mist. Those little legs move SO FAST, and the little waddle is priceless.)

Meg,

After 1 year of nothing, all of a sudden she gets is a dish of water and starts screaming like she is getting killed or something. Carrie had our Camra handie so she got some of the action. It is funny to watch.

That sounds hilarious! Does she flap her wings and dunk her head or does she just stand there yelling?

We don't have movies or even pictures. Just a very old computer that manages to s-l-o-w-l-y get me to fluffies via dial-up. OS 9.2 is the best we can do without buying a new computer.

I gave the bird her bath indoors yesterday on a low glass table with her spray bottle. The bird was mad; the cat was curious. The cat stepped up on the table and spread himself over part of it. The bird did not hesitate to scramble under his long fur to hide herself from the horrid mist. The cat lay there like a mother hen until he felt the mist.... They both hate baths...

Smokey only bathes when in the mood. I spritz her almost everyday with the water bottle, at least a little bit. Some days she just ducks and moves away. But every once in awhile she decides to spread those wings and really get into it. What she likes to do best is "try" to take a bath in her water dish. She makes us laugh so hard. Laughing She hangs on to the bars above the dish with her beak. Puts both feet in the dish and splashes away. Very Happy I will have to try and get a video of that. When she's in that mood I just spray her while she splashing so she does get a really good bath.

Very Happy he HATES them....I make him go outside and sit in his 'outside cage' and I spray him with the hose...he just tries to attack the hose it's NUTS!! but, afterwords he's mad at me until he's dry...
and Sonnie won't let me bathe him ANYWHERE but outside in his cage....he just flies away screaming....
he was abused when he was young, so I'm wondering exactly WHAT they must've done to my poor baby.
