| This bird REALLY hates showers! |
|
|
I've mentioned before that I have a hard time showering Bunny, even with a mister. The other day it was raining, and I thought since it's natural maybe she won't mind it so much and I took her outside. She was sooo mad! We were in my back yard and she kept flying off my arm and running around the yard frantically trying to find shelter! I'm begining to think maybe she's had some sort of traumatizing experience with water before I got her? Are any of your Greys this affraid of water? |

Wow Shirin You truely have a problem with giving Bunny a shower don't you? I feel your frustration Do you just make her get a shower, cause her feathers are always so pretty. Chaquita isn't a big fan of the spritzer, but I just put her on her shower perch in the shower and make her take a bath As soon as it's done she's a happy bird singing and chatting How is Bunny after the fact? Is she mad at you for the day or several hours or does she get over it rather quickly once it's over with? |

Yeah I do sometimes make her take showers, I have no choice I just put her on my shoulder when I'm showering so she gets a little water and then when I'm finished washing my hair and stuff, I put her under the water. She screams and tries to climb my arm, but then once it's done she's fine, she doesn't stay mad or anything. She also takes baths on her own once in a while when she hears the vacuume, but that's like once a month, even though I vacuum everyday. |

You know, Manu doesn't usually care for his showers either. I use a water bottle to shower him, his talons tear me up in the shower!
I've also tried taking him outside in his aviary when it's raining & he doesn't like it. I just move the plywood off the top a bit, so he can stay or or get wet, but he seems nervous just knowing it's raining! |

Bunny's nails can be quite sharp on my shoulder too, but not sharp enough to tear me up |

Well, then since she gets over it rather quickly, I'd just make her get one whether she likes it or not. It hasn't changed Chaquita's personality towards me so I just do it. Kinda like a kid who doesn't want to take a bath or shower "Oh Mom! Do I have toooo " Yep, you sure do |

Shirin, I don't live with a grey.. But Iago doesn't like rain & misting either! He hates it.. He'd rather bath in his bowl, like Bunny does when you're vaccuuming. |

The trouble with that is that with bathing in a bowl, she doesn't do it often enough, and also her back doesn't get wet at all. For some reason she really likes dunking her bum in the water I have a video of that actually, I'll have to post it! |

Ha Ha I have to see her dunking her bum Hey Sue, what's a bidet? Would that be considered a diaper? I kinda enjoy learning new foreign words. Then I can throw people off Hey! We need to do that! That would be fun! Sue can have a word of the day. A dutch word translated to english |

I believe a Bidet is a Bum shower that you sit on like a toilet, some people have these instead of toilet paper..... Ponit of Reference: "Crocodile Dundee" the first move the when he frist get to the Hotel.

Jrmno1 that's exactly what I meant!
I'm going to tell you something really filthy!
When I was 17, I went to Rome, Assisi & Florence (Italy) to study the ancient buildings of the Romans as I had studied Latin in school.
We went to sleep in a convent, and it was really beautiful there! We also had a bidet and we had no clue what it was for, so what we did (hehehe) was washing our sweaty feet in it! We also used it to keep our cans of coke and other sodas cool! |
