Very urgent..(HELP ME)  Reply with quote

1-Here is a pic of Kouka''s feet on home page here. There are scales that are emerging from here toes. I am pointing to one of them with a red arrow, is this normal. She is putting her toes in her mouth most of the time. Is this dangerous. She does not draw blood or anything.
2- she hit the ground today when landing, she was tired and could not land well and then craked a piece of her beak . lots of blood. she is pretty calm now but eating well. Is this OK... What should I do . No vets around. No more bleeding. as she opens here beak there is something I do not understand is it normally there between the two parts of the beak at the joint where the two parts neet inside (symmetrically existing at both sides inside the beak and on either side of tongue) a pictuer drawn is existant in the homepage here.
Thank you

You need to go to a vet now.If there is no bird vet any vet will do. All vets can look at a bird and see if there is any thing they can do.

Other then that keeping it calm and see if it can eat or drink there is not much. When a bird chews on its feet it a sign of worry. Like a human chewing there nails. A vet can do more. This may be a sign there is something wrong.
I wish you luck.

sorry but i can't really see the pics of the toe very well... but birds like to preen their toes and stuff, so it isn't bad...

i'm not sure what you mean be the beak thing on each side.. is it there before? or has it just come up??

if the beak starts to bleed again, compact corn starch on the bleeding area.. pat it down firm.

my Grey has the same problem with the feet....there are just alot of little pink spots where he rubs his feet alot....
I haven't gotten into the vet yet....my mom hasn't had time....
but, I don't think it's life threatening...maybe just dry skin?
when he gets his feet wet he seems to feel better.
