Hi, I am worried my job moved me up to full time and my TAG will be all alone most days untill 5:00pm. He's not going to be used to that and I feel really bad, and nervous he is going to feel lonely? I'm wondering if it's fair I keep him with those conditions? Or if someone has some advice? I'm not able to get another bird. But really don't want my baby to be all alone. I've had him since he was just a baby, and he's really attached to me, and me to him. It would kill me to have to loose him because of this but I want to be fair to him. So I'm hoping someone has a better answer?

I guess that your bird will get used to it that you will be gone quiete a long time during the day.
what I do is leave the radio on so my birds can hear something. make sure there are enough things to keep him busy with. toys, or hide food in different places, in wc rolls, pieces of paper etc. and don't forget, a bird is sleeping a lot as well during the day.
you can try to make him get used to be alone, by leaving him alone for several hours per day. you will see that he will be fine. as soon as you get home, give him the attention it deserves. and if you can, give him a little friend. it doesn't have to be the same race. but just to see another birdie might help as well.
try first with the advices I gave you. i guess that he will be fine. |
