I have a 3 month old blue fronted amazaon baby. She is currently on 2 handfeeds a day. She also eats seeds, nuts, pellets, veggies and fruit. However, the problem I am having is she eats it only outside the cage. In her cage she has 4 bowels filled with everything and also water. However, she wont touch the bowels. When, I put her in the cage she climbs to the top perch and plays with her toys all day. She will not eat her food unless I take her out and feed her on her playstand. I am worried because she does not eat all day when i am at work. 8-5pm.
Will she eventually eat her food in her cage |

when a parrot is really hungry it will eventually eat it will never starve itself completely out that it will die. it just likes to eat out of the cage.
maybe you can stimulate your cutie with hiding the foot in paper, on the floor etc. make it interesting. as soon as the seeds are found they will eat it.
try to train him a little bit menawhile he eats out of the cage. |

its very strange. When I first put him in the cage when i got him he ate from the food dishes. Now, he wont. He just wantes to climb to the top of the cage and sit on his comfy perch. If i put him on the food dish, he races to top of cage.
I also noticed that he ocassionally sneezes and clear fluid comes out fo one nostril. That one nostril now appears to be slightly smaller then the other. Is that normal |

you might try to put the food to the level of the higher perch. maybe he will eat then. the high position might give him a save feeling so start to put the food there, once you see he is eating again, you can always hang the food a bit lower until it is down again.
it is possible that he has a little cold, so make sure there is no wind and he is warm. if it doesn't stop in a few days, have him checked at the vet. just to be sure he is ok. |
