I think Willie's a sweetheart and he sure is a well loved bird. And no John I don't want another bird(at least not yet). I was touched by the sentiment you wrote about the Rainbow bridge and how all the critters are waiting there for people who love animals so much. It brought tears to my eyes. I know how hard it must of been for you to turn over Willie to your Mom....it was such a wonderful gift you gave her and I can see by the picture of your Mom and Willie that she loves him so.

Update on not so lil Willie.. First of all he is a he and we are tickled about that. No egg laying to worry about!! I had not seen Willie in a week so getting to see him today was a big treat for me. LOL John & Carrie, close your eyes! Your about to be blown away by "handsomeness"!!! I couldn't get over how he's changed and all he's doing. We had to get him out of that black cage. The size was great but the bar space was too small and we were afraid he might get his beak caught in it. Now he's in a smaller cage but correct bar spacing. In the black cage, the perch was 1/2 inch off floor and he could perch on it great. In this cage, it's higher so we watched to see and sure enough he did great! He's climbing all over and loves to get on the floor so I'm betting he'll start trying to get off that floor soon. Wow I'm so proud!!!!!! I'm glad I went to see him. I really needed to. Be prepared to be wowed!!

Willie is growing and getting smarter by the day. I remember talking with ya'll and the vet on how birds hatched in a incubator develop slower. LOL Well now, he might have been slow out of the gate but he's sure making up for it now! About 3 months old, health is great, eats almost anything offered (only good stuff, nothing bad and I do mean nothing!), flying everywhere and I heard him laugh today just like Sully! I had to stop and make sure it wasn't Sully!!
I'm trying not to post too long but gotta tell ya a story. My Dad has become very fond of Willie. (suppose to be my Mom's bird) It was time to cook dinner so my Mom put Willie in his cage. She's worried he'll fly to the stove since his cage is in the dinningroom close by. Willie gets so upset and throws a fit! He acts like he falls to bottom of his cage and flaps around, fusses like crazy. When dinner is ready, my Mom lets him out so he can eat with them on his table perch. Willie was so mad he wouldn't come. All thru dinner no Willie. After dinner, my Dad took his shower and walked in the room dressed for bed. Willie still didn't budge. Normally he flies to my dad. Dad walks back in his room and comes back with his hat on. Mom asks why. He sits by the cage and looks at her. LOL He's trying to get Willie to forgive him!! Willie loves to fly to that hat. They finally start playing at the end of the table. Willie keeps trying to back to the edge of the table. My Dad is holding his hands just under the edge afraid Willie will back off table. LOL Willie tries to back up where his hands aren't but Dad doesn't give up. Willie did. He pooped in my Dad's hand!!! Willie has brought so much joy to those 2. I knew he would do them good but I didn't even have an idea how much!! That house revolves around that bird! Sorry so long!! |

Don't be sorry for a post like this we love to hear good news of a happy home for a wonderful bird. I believe I can speak for everone here, we would much rather hear of the good things, wheather then wait to tell us something when it is bad news....

This young man is doing wonderful!! He is 4 1/2 months old has more toys than any spoiled child I've ever seen. My Mom changes them often so he never gets bored. He's laughing and saying hello now. If Mama leaves the room, he tries to find her if he can get to her or he "cries" until she's back. Willie still likes my Dad but his mommie is no 1 always. He only eats healthy foods, no sugar, fried foods or foods with alot of added seasonings. She bought him that wonderful cage but Willie stays on the top of it and on his perch all day. If she has to put him in the cage, he throws a fit! These are his fav spots to be when not on his cage or perch....
