| i'm geting a Yellow Naped |

Hi , I'm new here and i'm fixing to buy a Yellow Naped Parrot at the end of this week , her name is Checkers and she is 12 years old . We seen and paid down on her the other day . They said she is very tame and took to the woman best , but the man can handle her . Oh , by the way this couple are individuals not breeders , they said that they didn't have the time to spend with her the way they need too , so they was going to sell her . When we pulled up in their yard , they had Checkers under the carport and she was talking up a storm . My question is , they said it might be better to keep her cage coverd for a couple of days when we get her home and let her get use to our voices and over a day or two slowly thake the cover off of her cage , they said that this would be less stressful on her , is this true ? or does it really matter
PS This will be our first big bird , i want her to be friendly with my wife and my 11 year old daughter , but i 'm hoping that she will bond to me , is their a way i might have a better chance of this happening ?. We have a little dog that we got at 7 weeks old , and i'm the main one that feeds him , guess what , he took to my wife and daughter , just my luck. |
