Each bird is different, has thier own unique personitly.
The OWA are generally more mild then the DYA. Although the Amazon by it's very nature is a little unpredicable. If you can I would diffently keep them off your shoulders, the higher they are the more aggrisive they get, in a flock the bird who is highest is boss and he will guard that pecking order. Do not allow them to get to excited when playing, they are very playful and when they get excited they can bite (known as Amazon overload), and a DYH can do some damage.
Feed them a pellets diet, with all the fresh fruits and Veg they can eat. No Seeds in there regular dishes. Frozen Vegs and people food are fine. Amazons are pron to overweight problems including liver and faty tumers. Thus the reason for NO SEEDS. With one exception, Sunflower seeds or pine nuts as a treat only. And only from our hand. If they are alreay on a seed diet, then start mixing pellets in with the seed, and keep cutting back on the seeds until they are on pettels only. Please get your Amazons off seeds. We just adopted an OWA that only has one or two years left because of a seed diet.
This will do as a start for general help. Any Questions just ask..
