Hi, my name is Becky and I live in Colorado in the USA. We recently purchased a lilac crowned amazon about three months ago and he is such a joy. Sergey (LCA) just turned a year last week and he is trying to say so many things and in the past three months he has actually learned lots in regrads to talking...like, I love oyu, want out, step up, good bird, good birdie, pretty bird, hello and hi and is trying to sing happy birthday and of course other mumbles..I also have a 9 year old CAG, Tango...he is the best. If you do not mind telling me, how did you lose your 6 birds? The reason I am asking is because about 3 months ago we lost a very special guy..Fuzzy..we adopted him from a home of abuse snd he was about 3 months old when we got him..Fuzzy almost died several times when we had him but he always made it..I had to feed him (syringe feedings) about 3 times a day because he had so many problems..well, one morning we got up and he had thrown up all over..took him to our Birdy Vet and he passed away..well...today he would have been two years old. Fuzzy had PDD we found out...So far...Tango is just fine as well as Sergey. Can you tell me anything about the lilac crown? I am a well read bird lover but would like to hear opinions, etc. Thanks, Becky[/b]

Welcome here!

I hope you'll enjoy your time here.

I'm not knowledgable on amazons, but Danabird & LaSignoraMusica probably can. (Along with other people?)

Hi Becky  Reply with quote

Sorry I personally don't know anything about the lilic crowns but if no one on this sight can help you may I suggest the Yahoo Groups amazonaonline. I joined that and they are all about amazons and very knowlegable on those amazons.

As far as my birds I didn't close my gas stove door all the way and the gas killed them. I know the death of your bird is haard to swallow, I still am having a hard time and it happened in December.

Good luck with your bird and enjoy him as much as I have enjoyed mine! It is wonderful to wake up and have Romeo start talking to me and brings a early morning smile to my face. I love him sooooo. Dana

Hi Dana,
I just got your reply. I tried to go to the site and it just does not work for me. I am really good on the computer but this is boggling my mind. Let me give you my email address and maybe you can send it thru there, then maybe I could just click on the site and go there. I am also going to check on The Amazon Society and I will subscribe to that for sure. You have an Amazon, don't you? Becky
