Hi all you Tweetie- Pies!! ,
Pleased to get your responses! I feel very reassured. She is
such a happy bird, I should trust that indicator more often.
Interesting info about the possibility of her being a Yellow Shouldered Amazon. She does have extremely dark yellow shoulders. If she loses her beautiful aqua/blue markings, I'll miss all the 'oohing and ahhing' she gets from her fans, but she could turn 'baby-yuck' brown and she's still my 'Amazing Mayzie'.
So happy I've found this treasure trove of a support group. There are no other parrot parents around here and non-fluffies just don't get it.
My husband found me a decal that reads; 'IF IT'S NOT A PARROT, IT'S JUST A BIRD!'
Now that summer is over, boat came out of the water today, business slowing down, I'll be coming around more often!
See you soon,
Cindy

Hi Cindy
I have a picture of Blue (my BFA) on one of my diary pages, and he's got a bunch of yellow on his wing, you might see if they match up a bit on coloration. Just a suggestion. Blue lost his Blue a little at a time, but after seeing 'other BFA's' I realized he didn't really have THAT much to begin with!
I'm sure Mayzie is fine, and I'm glad you'll be around more. Looking foward to seeing more of you and welcome again. |
