My Baby is growing up  Reply with quote

Ohhhh everybody my Romeo has got his first yellow feather around his neck Crying or Very sad which means he's growing up Crying or Very sad I know he still has a long way before he is a young man but I have enjoyed him so much knowing he was still a baby at 16 months oldI guess this time next year he won't look the same as he does now so I guess I better start taking pics of the changes before it happens so fast that I would miss it Sad Can anyone tell me what's to come on the developing of the feathers coming in? Ohhh Dana, are you sad because of those feathers? Please think of this, he'll be even more beautiful! Smile He's growing into a wonderful teenager, right? Smile He isn't an adult yet! Smile

I agree with you having to take loads of photos.. Smile Perhaps send them so everyone can see them? (And keep up with the change?)

Awwww, that's great to hear that he's getting his yellow nape Very Happy From what I've learned, each time he molts he'll get more yellow feathers on his nape. By the time he's all grown up it should be about the size of a 50 cent piece. Chaquita actually has a couple stragglers on the top of her head. It's a brilliant yellow, breaks up the green a bit.

Dont fret Dana Sad You still have about 3 years before he starts going through his hormonal changes. Even then, you'll be prepared and know how to deal with it.
