Psst....they are easier than most - they usually 'DEMAND' less. Doesn't mean that they don't need the same.. it means they are ok if they don't 'get the same' .. at least in my house Smile

I do the best I can, but I am FAR from a perfect Parront!

Who me? (Innocent I tell ya, innocent!!) Shocked Wink

Seriously Sue, you sound very interested in them, and while I know interest doesn't always mean the resources (time/money) for them..I just get this feeling from you that you REALLY want one Very Happy

I do hope to see you saying that you got one soon and of course will be anxiously awaiting the kind too!! Heh!

I'm in love with Panama's and while I don't own one.. where I got my yellow naped and blue front - they had a CRACK up of a teacher.. a Panama used to sit in the 'baby room' and sing and talk for all the babies so they'd learn to talk Smile They are funny, mellow and very underrated for their kind and if I EVER got another one Shocked Rolling Eyes it would be a Panama! Blegh I'm nesting again and it's been 'forever' since I had a baby in the house and that's why LOL!

Ha ha ha you're far from innocent Parfie! Smile

I think I would be happy already if I could babysit an amazon.. Smile I'd love to, but I don't know a person with one.. Else I'd really love to!
I also was to babysit a caique while the parronts were on vacation but she found someone living closer to her.. Sad Boooohooooo! Sad

I know what you mean with it's been forever since.. Sometimes we just need to see some baby birds. That's why i sometimes go to a parrot store but I always get out sad.. Not really the right outcome isn't it?

I'll have to look what a panama is.. Smile

I know but I try Smile LOL

Check out Aves International - she has pics and that's Gail Worth's site. She's not accepting deposits for babies right now (her hubby is ill), but my friend bought a bird from her and had it shipped and when she says she feeds her kids the 'right diet' that bird arrived GORGEOUS!

At least then you'd get to see pics. They aren't that 'pretty' like Napes or
Doubles but MHO they rock as pets! They love to sing and whoop it up like the Doubles and Napes just not as volitale.. at least in every one I have ever met Smile

She's not cheap, but I think it's worth it for the quality that she does, based on this one friends purchase (she got a F Bronzed Winged Pionus). She does not ship International though, States only.

Hummmm I wonder if there is a 'bird sitting site'.... Sue... an 'addition' for this one? LOL

I have seen her page.. Smile
It's a beautiful amazon species.. Sigh.. Don't tempt me here! He he!
Not pretty? Well, I guess I will have to get other contact lenses then.. Smile

I'd love to birdsit other birds he he he! I'd wish we'd all live a little closer so that we could babysit each other's birds when needed.. That would be great, wouldn't it? Smile

Sometimes you'd be suprised how close some of us live.. in my close to 15 years on the net, it never ceases to amaze me Smile

The Panama's are pretty, it's just when Amazon's are thought of as pets, most think of the more popular species - BFA, YNA, DYH. Now a Panama's coloring is not in that range but they have their own beauty, and I hardly think they are ugly.... just not as 'flamboyantly' colored as most 'known' species.

Imperials and some of the endangered species are truly AMAZINGLY colored! I also love the 'Blue Napes' I have seen photo's of. /sigh I'm nesting and need to get my life at home worked out before anything else! /bonk self on the head!

I guess when panamas open their wings I'm just flashed by their beauty.. Smile
Amazon wings are just awesome.
I would have serious difficulties clipping their wings!!

Imperials.. They're sooo beautiful!
I also like cubans.. And ehm, St Lucia? I don't know..

Well Romeo flew across the room today and crashed into the wall. I ran over and he starts saying ' Step up" before I even get there Laughing Poor baby thank goodness he didn't hurt his self. Im going to take him and Newbe to the vets next week to get there wings clipped. All I keep hearing in my mind tho is " I was a bird untill I got clipped". Im just afarid that they are going to get hurt flying in the house. I can't take anymore death in this family. Remember I do have dogs Rolling Eyes

Romeo was saying " Grampaw whatja doing" today while my father was over helping to put up the panels to keep the cold out in the aviary. My dad really got a kick out of that. He is also on the 'Are you a bad bird?" thing. I think Im gonna make a list of the stuff he is saying and see how many different things he comes up with. He's changing some words around and it is soooo cute Laughing

Newbe started the "Good boy" but I know where he got that from. Talk about a spoiled bird (or is it really just over loved?) Laughing Wink dana

Ohhh Dana, please please don't feel guilty about it..
Did you see the thread about Shirin's doubts to clip or not? Please read that thread..
Please remember, birds in cages are very unnatural, so we should try and make the best out of it, even though it means doing something unnatural?? (Just my opinion)

You have such a talkative flock Dana! And Romeo is really using his words appropriately, sooo cute!
