This is so amazing I just have to tell you guys. Nury my neighbour looks after my Lorito 3 days a week when I have to go to work, he loves Nury so much and Nury loves him.
A few days ago early in the morning Nury was awake, she had visitors, she thought she heard Lorito whistling in the trees and was worried he had escaped she went closer to the trees and heard "Hola" Venga Venga she called out and the bird just dropped from the tree, Nury said she was so upset as she thought it was Lorito it looked just like him but when she got closer she saw the bird was fully flighted and wasnt Lorito, Nury took the bird in gave it water and it was obvious the poor thing hadnt had food or water for days and days, it has slept a lot and is looking great now, apart from the tail feather looking a bit scruffy still we have asked all the neighbours if they have lost a bird and put an ad in the local supermarket but nothing so it looks like Nury has a new member of the family and Lorito has a girlfriend for Christmas!!!!!! Its so exciting here at the moment
Love

Ohhh how exciting! I bet Lorito will be happy to have a new friend. I wonder where it came from. It must have been glad when your neighbour took it in and looked after it. You will have to post some pics. |

oh that is so wonderful! well not wonderful for the person that lost it, but for lorito.
As much as I don't want it to happen, I do somehow wish that the owner could be reunited with the bird. But then again, I'm sure the new bird is in good hands with your neighbours.
I hope that Lorito hasn't been introduced to the new bird as it may carry some sort of disease that may be passed on to Lorito.
I hope all turns out well for all parties involved with the bird. Cheers

Welcome to your neighbor's new Fid! I am with Cheeta, someone is probably heart sick about the loss of their pet, but, if you did your best to find his owner, then, hey, welcome to the neighborhood .. Lorita will be very well taken care of by your neighbor if you trust them with your Fid. Grats! |

How neat yet sad at the same time. I would definately keep Lorito away from the newcomer!! Have your neighbor take the bird to the vet for a check up and quarantine it. With avian flu going around it could be dangerous along with other diseases it could be carrying. Play it safe! But after all is said and done, that is just great that Lorito has a new pal |

Just to let you know, we have done everything we can to find loritas home but to no avail. She has settled in well with my neigbour, Nury. She has started coming out of her shell a little and will reluntanly step up to go and play in the garden with Lorito.
We dont think she was well looked after in her last home she is still hunched up looks like she had a very small cage the way she carries herself but Lorita is improving every day. Lortio loves her and shows off in front of her all the time.
Will keep you posted
