Well good news for now, the eggs have hatched and there are young in the box, though l haven't looked yet for the young are now 5 days. It's winter and cold season compared to there usual breeding season of spring and summer,so l don't want to disturb them.So far everyday l can hear young chick's cheeping in the box which is a good sign and Butterscotch(Male) has a dirty green/brown beak meaning he has been busy feeding his new offspring. This is an exciting time for me at the moment for on Saturday when they are seven days young l plan to have a look and take some photo's for my next dairy.Hopefully Paleface and Butterscotch don't mind..he..he. |

warm, well at night it's around 5 degrees and day around 15 degree's,like last night it was 7's though there was a day while they were eggs about two weeks ago it reached 0's. Just thought of an idea, thanks Sue...if future l'll will place a thermometer outside the cage and that way l can keep a diary on the temperature they breed with..thanks for the idea |

That sounds pretty ok.. But 0 isn't very well.. Very very cold. (I don't like cold weather)
It wasn't my intention to give you advice, but somehow I did? Strange..

Well today it was a cold day 10 degrees maximum low of 6 degrees with rain allday, so when l took photo's of the young it was with my quick shot camera for l didn't want the heat from the nest to get to cold so l took the shots blindly.Anyway this topic will now be continuing in the
Cockatiel section
from now on.Hopefully in the future everyone can enjoy the life and upbringing of my new tiels. The only thing is because it's cold l will only take photo's ONLY when it's sunny and warm enough to take them so the nest box doesn't loose any heat when l lift the lid so it stay's nice and warm for the youngsters. |
