Awwww, that's great! Nothing like two budgies (or more:). My two are inseparable (even though they're both females).

Aww, look at those two.
I'm afraid that Sprite looks awfully like a boy, and Blueberry may be the bride in this couple's relationship. But I need to see better pics.
Did your friend by chance quarantine Sprite before introducing it to Blue? A friend of mine bought two healthy looking birds from a place to only find that one of them is a disease carrier, and he wiped out her whole entire flock of 10 budgies. not very good. Get your friend to keep a close eye on both birds and make sure that they don't look sick in anyway.... |

Yes I thought about that. She has them in different cages at the moment and they are both beside eachother. Sprite came from abreeder with many other birds. I was thinking about quarentine at first then forgot to tell her, but I will tomorrow..and to keep an eye on them.
I too think blue is the bride..it is one year old and its cere was blueish brown for a bit but then turned back to blue..I do think "he" is a "she", and Sprite is too young to tell for now.
When do budgies wean? Sprite was said to be 8 weeks old and I thought she might not be weaned..awfully young..so I was asking her questions about it and she said it was weaned.. |

Awww that's so cute! Sprite is a lovely, 'fast' name.. (I hope you understand what I mean) It's not a name for a large bird LOL!
They seem to get along great! |

I can usually tell a budgie's sex from when they are about four weeks old. I have a friend who breeds her many hundreds of budgies in her very big aviary, and I'm about 95% correct with the sexing. From the pics given, Sprite is way too purple to be a girl, and with the girls, the light blue only means that they are out of breeding condition, and it'll turn dark brown as she becomes ready to breed. If you go to my homepage (about halfway down) you'll see all my budgies lineup. Have a look at them, and you'll see the different in the cere colours. Oh so you know, Chase and Blondie are girls. I think I made a mistake and put Chase as boy? I think Blondie was the other mistake.. but both of them are boys. |

Thanks Cheeta!! I'll tell my friend.
Sue, sprite is a cute name . My friend named him that because the bird is a pale neon green and yellow (you cant see the green very well in pics) and theres lemon lime soft drink called Sprite. It is a cute name |
