I'm not sure what to think of it either ... it would have been better to actually SEE them talking.
I have heard that budgies are really one of the best talkers, but very hard for people to understand the words. |

I didn't think so before, but yes I truely believe that (not from seeing the site) budgies are one of the best talker in the parrot world if the MALE is kept as a single pet. of course just like other parrots, not all birds will talk, and not all the talks can talk very well...
I think a lot of people just don't give enough credit for these tiny little creatures... afterall if an african grey can do it, why can't a budgie? |

Yes, Bih is right. Budgies are known as one of the best talkers. I haven't been on that site before, but I've heard budgies talking exactly like that on another site so I believe it's authentic. |

Yeah I belive budgies are one of the best talkers and that they can talk, its just that some of the things they claimed the budgies said didnt seem very realistic a video would be good too |

Oh I believe budgies can talk, I just find it hard to believe he is having a conversation with the bird and the bird is talking back to him! Speckles (1) picked up a few words and would use them in his nonsensical (sp?) chirping, but I don't think he ever tried to use those words to communicate with me So far Speckles2 hasn't even bothered learning to talk.. he has however started copying the birds outside I don't think he's going to be a talker |

I heard my little keet Figaro say "Whatchadoin?" the other day!! I'm certain!! She was hanging around My other 'keet, Aloha when she said it. I'm pretty sure I've heard her say "Pretty Bird" a few times. She can also mimic whistles like wolf whistles and the whistle we use to call the dog. She can also mimic wild bird calls like crow and chickadee. I have a toy robin you squeeze and it makes a noise, and she can mimic that noise
perfectly!!
She'll usely use little bits of it, and sometimes get "stuck" and make like a broken record, repeating the same note over and over again. I think she does this to get our attention. She knows its wrong and she knows we know its wrong, so I guess its one of her many attention getters!!
Sorry I had to brag about her for a bit lol! |

Aww how cute My little one will copy the birds if he sees them outside, he can tell which ones they are too! If he sees a jaybird he will make their call, and if he sees the little birds (I'm not sure what they're called, I just call them the chip-chip birds ) he will make their little calls |

Cute! One time I hung Figs cage outside (in the hot summer and I was supervising) and there was a crow in a tree. It cawed, and little fig cawed back. Her little caws sounded so quiet compared to a real crow! |

Lol, aww that sounds cute! I remember when Speckles2 was still learning to imitate the calls, he'd practice quietly to himself.. it sounded like he was too shy to 'speak up' in case he got it wrong, it was so cute |

So cool!! I totally believe it! Bellamy holds coherent conversations with me all the time. In fact, I've never heard him speak out of context. He has a smaller vocabulary but it grows every day. Budgies are very intelligent birds when given a chance. Too many are kept in cages all day and fed an all-seed diet: just because they're cheap . |

According to Bird Talk Mag. a couple of months ago, not sure which issue, the easyest birds to teach to talk are..
1. YNA
2. DYHA
3. CAG
4. Budgie (surprised me)
They said that a lot of times they talk so quick and so high pitched you can not make out what they are saying, but talking they do...
