My first egg ever!! But I don't want it!! LOL  Reply with quote

My little Lemon is laying eggs!! NOOOOO............ I can't believe it.. I've gone through all the trouble of making sure that no budgies in that aviary would lay egg, and now this... She laid her first egg on the ground, and the second up high so was smashed when it got pushed off the bench. But boy, what am I to do with those 'horny' budgies that are just so ready to breed like those rabbits!!! LOL

SOrry for my late response!!!

I'm sooo sorry that Lemon started to lay eggs.. How is she today? Did she lay any more eggs?
Are there more 'horny' budgies out there in your aviary? (Sorry, I am laughing a bit about your choice of words)

Don't apologies Sue, I know you've been busy, so it's ok. really...

And Lemon is doing great. She laid a total of four eggs, of which three were broken due to the fact that she didn't have a nesting box. But that's cool.. her first egg is still in good condition.. I've got it stored in one of my draw.. didn't want to throw it away. hehe

there are plenty more 'horny' budgies out there!! LOL But none of which are in breeding/laying conditions, so that's ok. I'm hoping none of them will decide to lay eggs without nesting boxes!! They don't usually do that.. It's just Lemon I think.. hehe...

Lemon is now indoor with me, all lonely by herself.. but that was the only way I could stop her from laying eggs!! But that's ok, I think she's happy in here as well.. I'll get her a companion in here sometimes and they can be my indoor budgies.

Thanks Bih.. Glad to hear that Lemon is doing great, even though she has four eggs.. What a clutch! It's a miracle that they do so well after bearing so many big eggs! (For their bodies)

Be careful when you get lemon a companion! Perhaps it's a male and then you'll have an even BIGGER problem.. (Sorry for laughing here)

Yeah I know, I can't believe they can just pop one of those 'gigantic' things out of their little body!!!

Oh Sue, you can laugh all you want!! LOL... but I tell you, don't you worry about that, I'll make doubly sure that it ain't a boy!!! That poor Lemon is too horny to have male companion!!! LMAO... Smile hehe

Yeah, it must be painful for them.. No wonder they (my sister's budgie at least) are tired before and after.. Sad

Can't you get Lemon a inflatable rubber budgie doll? ha ha ha! Then she can be horny and you won't have ANY trouble at all. LOL!

hehehe, yeah, little minature chooks..

She's recovering, seems like she's doing great actually. Quite bossy with me actually.. hehe.

I'm not sure if the eggs were furtile or not, but I don't want the babies since the only two males I have in the aviary are her brothers, so I don't want to find out.. hehe.. Smile It probably would be, I saw Lemon and Lime doing the 'dance' quite a few times before I pull Lemon out of the aviary. She laid one eggs after she was pulled from the aviary while she's in her indoor cage.
