oh they sound cute!!
Well, I would reccomend you get a big roomy cage (make sure the bar spacing is right and they can't get their heads stuck thru) and try to feed them a mixture of seeds and pellets and other, too much seed can make them sick. Also feed them fresh food. budgies love bells as toys (make sure they cant remove the clacker inside) and the little cat jingle balls..the plastic balls with a jingle bell inside.
Can't wait till you get em!

Do you have any specific questions you'd like to ask? I love budgies, I have 21 of them, of which only two are tamed and one semi tamed.. the rest aren't tamed but don't bite me when I hold them.. hehehe.. they live in the aviary but four. two pairs live indoor with me.
Haley has given some good info to start off with. Please feel free to ask away.
Though I must ask, what size cage have you got in mind or already set up for them? |

I've heard getting budgies to eat their pellets can be quite difficult (I know my little one is stubborn on the issue! hehe) but there is a trick to it. I give him some seeds for breakfast, and again at night at regular times. Then he has his pellets all day - taking the seeds out of reach is the only way to get him to eat his healthy pellets! If he had the choice he'd be munching on seeds all day |

If you haven't picked them out yet specifically - look for the ones that are curious & maybe even hang out nearer you. Although my Budgie was mature when I got him I was impressed with how calm & alert he looked.
I started his training using a wooden spoon as a perch for him to step-up onto - but inside his cage. I didn't want to run after a wild Budgie. He was also hand shy - which is common for a new bird. I like that anyone can get him to step-up & we can get him down from high places. It doesn't stop him from being a little devil about bed-time. Sometimes I have to dim the light to get him to go to bed.
i have talked to a lot of Budgie owners & those that get young ones & more than 1, tend to clip the flights to make taming & training easier. The flight feathers will grow back in if you want that for them. My Budgie is flighted & I love to watch him fly - he's quite the acrobat or maybe daredevil. |

How exciting! I remember how thrilled I was to bring Bellamy (male blue budgie) home! If you want your bird to bond with you and possibly talk I recomed a single male about 4mos old-that is the age (aprox.) when they get their adult colouring. you will still be able to tell their age, though, birds of that age
do not
have irises yet. The irises develop around 6mos. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!! |

Recessive pied never gets the iris rings. and sometimes they don't even loose their baby barrings across their foreheads. That's why those recessive pieds can be hard to tell their age when they are babies. I love their big black eyes even well into adulthood. |
