They may or may not swallow the paper. You have to treat anything you give them as though they will swallow it. Bird safe things only. Black and white news paper is bird safe. |

yes I'm with John on this one... assume that he'll swallow it... Paper is fine as long as it doesnt have toxic ink on it. Generally the black and white newspaper is fine.
My budgies love tearing up papers!! I weave white butcher paper on the side of the cage and they have so much fun with it. |

History:
News paper was used to wrap food in, such as fish and other products as well as babies chawing the news paper. So the ink companies had to forumlate thier inks so that they were nontoxic or child safe. Colored inks are not formulated to this standard. So only use Black and White news print

Both Speckles and Speckles2 loved/s chewing up paper! Speckles would actually eat it, but little Speckles2 just seems to enjoy rolling it up into little balls. I'm assuming plain paper is just as safe as newspaper? since it hasn't gotten anything printed on it. |
