We lost our lovely Laker Budgie at the end of September.
RIP my sweet boy
It took a while before I could accept another Budgie. They are all so lovely - it was almost a crime that I couldn't make up my mind.
Then I happened to come in contact with a woman who raises Budgies - about an hour's drive East of Toronto. She has a wonderful flock. Her place is pristine & her birds are all flighted but are all tame.
Originally I was going to get one of her larger birds - an beautiful Blue & white Opaline.
Then I saw the Dad of the bird I got.
I was terribly excited when she told me he & a mate had just had a baby. This was her special bird - not so easy to get a baby just like him & there he was.
Here's Bow
Here's Rio with Bow - they are quickly becoming inseparable.
I posted his photo on a large Budgie board & they said they were sure he is a
Yellow face type 2, Sky blue, Dutch Pied Opaline
.
He has a great saddle & lovely colours. He is also a wonderful bird.
I hope you enjoy the photos - go to my diary to see more.

Although I have budgies for more than 15 years I have never tried to learn all those names and colors. I just like them for their activity, the fact that you hear them most of the day. Your Bow sure looks nice and special, sure he looks a bit like a rainbow. Nice for Bow that Rio accepted him so fast. This way they both have a mate and can play together.
