| Cockatiel with sore eye |
|
|
Not really asking for advise but just wanted to mention that my mother-in-law bought a Cockatiel from a local breeder and after a couple of days she noticed it had a sore eye and contacted the breeder for advise and he offered to ring it's neck and replace it free of charge
she took it to the vets and got some drops.
Don’t know how someone could do that! |

Jeeeeeez!! That's just terrible! Just goes to show you how expendable birds are to some people
Well I'm glad your mother got it into the vet & treated properly |

Ring it's neck because of a sore eye?!?!? It's people like that that gets me going!!
I'm glad that your mum took the tiel to the vet too. Hopefully this tiel will recover from it's sore eye soon and be the greatest bird for your mum! |

Oh, that's terrible
But I had a similar experience a couple of days ago... At the petshop where I got Booboo they told be that if I'm not happy with the bird or if he gets sick within the next couple of weeks to bring him back and they will replace him with another bird free of charge As if a bird was just a piece of plastic and not a living creature! |

that's horrible . The worst thing about it is that there's not much one can do to help the situation. It's a business for them and birds are their stock, and unfortunately that works for a lot of people that go to buy birds, since a lot of people think of a bird as just something pretty that'll sit in a cage instead of as a pet and member of the family. I've seen too many birds living in tiny cages and treated essentially as decoration objects |
