| Foster eggs |
|
|
Today l went around and checked everyones eggs and found Mr Whiteface and Madam not fretile again, 6 off them.Paleface and Butterscotch have 6 as well so l took the unfertile eggs from Mr Whiteface/Madam's nest away and fostered two fertile eggs from Paleface/Butterscotch.This will help even thing out as far as work load and hopefully Mr Whiteface/Madam can have some foster babies which l have done before successfully. |

It's funny how birds don't recognise their own eggs and will take care of others babies. A neighbour had pidgions breeding in her garden shed, at night she would lock her rabbits in the house to keep them safe, she went out one morning and found the pidgions sitting on baby rabbits, she hadn't realised they'd bred and locked the parents away for the night so the birds tucked the babies under them to keep them warm. |

Yes ,l have acheived this last year when Spice and Sugar had six eggs while Mr Whiteface and Madam had dud's again...so l went 3/3 and all grew up.Sad to say this time in the eggs didn't survive for cheeky Mylo got into the nest box and started a brawl, damaging them From now Mylo is grounded from entering the extension while there are any nest.. |

Yeah Mr Whiteface and Madam only had two foster eggs, there is still 4 with the real parents...Just goes to show doesn't matter how good your parrot is sometimes you turn and get dissapointed, though Mylo is Mylo and it is my supervision that let things down here, for l only recently mention how l would not leave Mylo with Co in one cage just in case?Think this episode proves my point |

You're right, birds will be birds, & after all, isn't that why we love them so Stuff happens. And I'm glad that not all was lost! |
