I don't think Mack is a male.....
last night Qwill climed right up on Mackies back......Mack kinda pushed him off, but would Qwillie have done that if Mack was a boy
since 'Tiels can tell when we can't...does this maybe mean that Mack IS a girl?!?! |

I wouldn't think so either way...
Birds can get quite friendly if they are 'desperate'!! haha, my budgies do that when they are confined to a male only cage. but then again, I've see many of my girls to push the boys off just because they aren't ready or just plain aren't interested at all... |

Yep, I agree with Bih, this wouldn't happen in the wild normally, except with Mallards but in captivity out of desperation they will do it. My lovebirds copulate all the time, and I'm pretty sure they're both males, since there have been no eggs in 3 years. |

I guess it's harder to tell the gender in a lutino tiel but... my Papug got gentle yellow barring on his tail feathers which makes me suspect that he may be actually a she
Papug got the barring after he (?she ) turned about 1 year old. The older he gets the more visible they are...
Hmmm... He is 2 and a half now but did not produce an egg either. I was curious myself how long could a female tiel go without laying an egg. Is it possible that they never do?
I have no question in my mind that Booboo is a male! |

I think Papug is a female. She has very distinct spots on the inside of her flight feathers. You can see them in your homepage(flying) and new years 2007 diary pictures. I can't tell if Mack has any spots under his flights though. From what I have read the spots on the inside of the flight feathers are suppose to be very prominent and the tail barring is faint. So far the two female lutinos I have met followed this pattern. Also, normal female are suppose to have this, but it's easier to see. |

I got a good look at Macks tail....and I see barring......
theres a part that's all white...and there are like bright lemon yellow bars on there....
could this also be that he's young though? |
