I just remembered... you are in Brazil where a lot of parrot species come from! You must see a lot there? I would think they'd be cheaper since a lot of parrots are from South America.

I also love the Whiteface and the Pearl Cockatiels. Very pretty. The pearl design goes away in the males once they're mature.

You can even get a Cockatiel and a pair of Lovebirds eventually... I don't think that would be too hard to care for. Smile

Yes .. many parrot species come from Brazil, and the right thing is that the parrots should be cheap.. but they arenŽt..Crying or Very sad
Yes even though I live in a big city I do see some parrots that look like peach-faced conure.. they are really noise little thing Twisted Evil .. and IŽve also seen in the country side where there is lot of native forest about a 2 hours drive away from my house some macaws the Blue and Gold macaw and a red one Twisted Evil that I assume the Green-winged macaw, wasnŽt really into bird until I saw them Laughing .
Yeah I knew that about the pearl design would go away...so I decided to get a female Laughing
Who know... I might get both Wink Laughing

You are as lucky as the Australians that you get to go out in the countryside to see wild parrots! Very Happy

Where I'm from (the USA) since all parrots are considered exotic, American bird lovers get all excited at the thought of seeing wild parrots since that is something that doesn't happen here Laughing Well, actually there are some feral populations of parrots in my area, conures and amazons, but they are of course not native to the US. I think they are Mexican species.

Yes, I believe mixed species of lovebirds can be housed together as long as they were together since babies. But you have to make sure to never let them breed (if you get male/female) because the babies could have health problems, short lifespan, or deformities.

I think a Cockatiel would be fine with or without friends... It's always fun to have more than one bird though Smile They aren't that expensive or hard to take care of, so why not get another one when Hermes settles in...
Are you going to keep the name Hermes, or are you still deciding?
