I just got a new Cockateil. Its name is Nibbler. (because it likes to nibble on everything. It is a very sweet personable little birdie but all I know is that they need lots of attention more so than parakeets. So if anyone else has any inoformation that I should positivley know please tell me. Thanks |

Hey khill! Congratulations!
Be sure to read thru some of the topics in this section of the forum, as well as the "diet" section. There's always something to learn!
How old is the 'tiel & how is he/she doing in her new home so far. I'm sorry, I can't remember, do you have other fids as well? I would really LOVE to see some pictures!
I think 'tiels are really great, sweet, low key beautiful companions. They're not real loud & they're very entertaining! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun! |

Its a boy!
He is about 7 months.
His name is Nibbler.
He has adjusted really well. He is climbing all over everything. He come to my hand when I call him, and he is very very pretty. As soon as I can take and download pics I most certainly will. He is just soooooo precious. I love him so much. He is very interactive. |

Congratulations!
Tiels are really great birdies to have. They have such great personalities.
As Cathy said, just read through the topics in this section and you'll find a lot of general info. |

Great to hear khill ,don't worry about Cockatiels being needing alot of attention, the more attention they get the better of course but they are very well tempermented .Once they get to know you it's smoooth sailing "so to speak' , they aren't the type of bird to go wild in a short time.If you haven't the time for them one day they won't forget you and go wild.
My Cockatiels currently trained, only get to spend every two or three days in the house 1 hour periods. They are young but once they settle in about 10 minutes they amaze me how they act.
Though my trained Cockatiels are still in the avairy with the parents, but l can see they know what goes on when it's time to bring them in.Eariler on they fought to free themselve's from my hand now they just sit and wait(routine). When l bring the Lutino or Pearl in they don't squabble to move in my hand they are relaxed.I'II send some dairy pic's l took yesterday of them when it was 43 degrees and you will see how relaxed they are though suffering in a mini heat wave we are going through which has drained them and me!he..he taking care of them , going through this. The last four days has been 36/38/40/43 degrees celcius? but luckily today 26 until Thursday they forecast 40 again. That's why l have been a little quiet on line.Talk soon |
