ok this past weekend 4 tiels were rehomed with me so day i was cleaning the cages had them all done but the one in my bedroom wich is the rehomed cage i took the water and food dish out then something caught my eye in the bottom of the cage there lay an egg the mom i no because i no there is just 1 female but this cage had the 3 i got on sunday so i female 2 males so i have no idea who the father is and guess what all 3 are all common greys
Are you saying that they may all be hens?
This can easily happen. Hens don't need a male to lay an egg[s].
I'll go thru a checklist just in case any of these are new to you....
1) I'd separate them into different groups if you can or just move the interior of the cage around - make it seem differnt The unsettling of change can stop laying.
2) Make sure the birds are getting about 10 to 12 hours or sleep as well. If they get too much light - Tiels & Budgies will start laying.
3) Also make sure that their diet isn't too high in protein = seeds & beans. Add things like cooked rice & noodles & tomatoes & veggies etc
4) make sure there is no nesting materials or hiding spots to stimulate this behavior.
5) more exercise - will help a lot - if you can let them out to fly around & get rid of extra energy.
6) are they getting any calcium in their diet? - look into this product =

Hens & Cocks really need this stuff - for their bones, feathers & their eggs.
I think I am tired - if I think of anything else I'll get back to you,
Cheers,
Jac
