| OMG HELP!!!! |
|
|
So Petra just scared the crap out of me!!!! I cleaned his cage today and I noticed theres a lot of breast feathers on the bottom left front corner of his cage ((thats where his water dish is, as well as a couple feathers spread around the cage)) .. im not sure if hes molting or.. maybe he is a "she" after all and is nesting??? although if he was a she i would thing she would have laid her first egg a while ago seeing as Petra just turned 3 a couple months ago.
Anyway so I went to change his water and when I got back with fresh water I went to refill his food dish and as I was pouring the food into the bowl he got really excited so I went to let him out and when I stuck my and in his cage to say "Up" he flipped out and was doing some weird thing with his right wing!! so I was worried and went to grab him ((which i hate doing)) and he flipped out and bit me!!! hes never bit me before.. so now im really worried. the only thing to do is herd him out the cage so i did that and when he got out he went under my bed.
I left him there for a moment while i put his food away. He didnt follow me around the room like he usually does... so I went to say "Up" again and he again flipped out!! so I finally grabbed him ((getting bit in the process)) and wrapped him up in my Jacket ((it was the closest thing I could grap)), he was screaming too and I proceeded to check him and I found no apparent injuries or anything... IDK what to think.. when I put him back in his cage he flipped out for a sec then sat in one place hissing at me...
Does anyone have a clue at what could be wrong???... im really worried about him, hes never acted like that before!!

Wow... is fluffies slow! where is everybody!?
This happened a while ago and he only acted that way that day.. hes been fine since.
Oh well I didnt teach him "Up" I just have a habit of saying it.. he gets up even if I dont say it.
Ive had Petra since he was weaned.
I had read somethin about male birds sometimes have hormone problems and they tend to get aggressive ((among other things that Petra hasnt done))... im not sure if that was it or not though.
