Lynzi,

Try a warm water shower/mist. It might not let you prean him but it will help with moulting.

Ahhh just leave the little birdy for a while.. Just let him sit with you. I am sure those pinfeathers hurt him if you touch them..

That's ok. I think those pinfeathers hurt him when you touch them. My birds can be cranky when I touch their pinfeathers.

Lynzie, I agree with John, give Qwill a nice warm shower. It will definitely help with those itchy pinfeathers and itchy skin. I do that for my tiels and sennie. Also just maybe when he sits on you he may just drop his head for a scritch. If he does, do not go against the feathers when scritching but go with the feathers. This way here you won't hurt the pin feathers. Try it and see if it works or helps.

I agree a nice warm misting sure helps with the itchiness plus softens the sheaf so it can break up easier. Yesterday I gave Anya a shower because she does not preen her feathers...... Sad even the ones she can reach. John and I both have to help her preen. Seems like she doesn't have the energy to do it.

Yes, frequent misting, daily if possible, will encourage preening Very Happy

Smile We have to help Kacey with some of her preening due to the cast on her wing. We also have to be very careful with getting water on her so her cast doesn't get wet. She was very itchy tonite so we got some water on her to help. She really likes her baths.
