that was meant as a reply to the "new cockatiel" post
also, i hve a question (also posted in "general care") regarding my cockatiel's "ankle bracelet" - it appears to have become stuck around the upper part of her leg (instead of sitting on her ankle where it usually is, it is caught above her "elbow"). It does seem to be bothering her a little bit, as I've seen her pick at it a few times today, but there is no redness etc. and she is getting around just fine. Could any one offer any advice on what to do? I live in ohio, it is very cold, and I do not live particularly close to any avian vets so I want to avoid taking her for a long cold trip in the car if at all possible.
This seems like a silly thing to ask, but does anyone know of any bird-safe lubricants (olive oil?) that I could use to help slide the ring back down her leg? Is it safer to leave it alone if it doesn't appear to be causing any problems?
I love my little Mollybird, and I would appreciate any information! Thank you!
