Pfew! Glad you didn't let yourself get scammed Yeah, any time you see ads from Africa don't trust them. They have very big scam operations going on there. |

That's too bad that there are such scam artists out there, I'm sorry it was too good to be true
I'm sorry you haven't heard anything more about the tiels either.
But don't give up Things really do have a way of working out if they are meant to |

Yes I have to agree... that doesn't sound right. in fact the pic looks like a wild caught bird.. I think that's what those rounded leg rings means anyway.
And sorry to hear that the lady with the tiels hasn't gotten back to you yet. |

About the Bands... i was ganna get my first 'teil banded after i got him back a week after he flew away so idk about the band cause i know people who get there large birds banded. and now hes offering to have me pay the $30 shipping first, then hell send the 'Grey and once i recieve the 'Grey 19 hrs later i could send him the payment ($65) for the bird itself.... My god do they sound so convincing.
But yea ive heard another story about these people who sent like $25000 toa person selling a Capuchin Monkey and when they sent the money the sellers vanished and the buyers never got the Monkey.. what a ripp. although why would he rip me off for $95? i dont get it, youd think hed be like ok $400 for the bird and $200 hundred for shipping then ripp me off (idk) hmmm weird. But yea i know what you guys mean.
Oh and he sent me a pic of the birds cage too. |

The reason why they ask for a smaller amount of money is because then people are more likely to send the money. Some of these are really big operations, like they actually have people sitting in an office for 10 hours a day and contacting as many people as possible to try to scam them. So he's probably telling the same story he told you to like 50 other people, and if even only 30 of those people fall for the scam, he's already made a good amount of money. |

Petra I am glad you didn't fall that scam. If and when you do decide on another bird, go to a bird fair in your area, there are reputable breeders there and you can meet them and their birds before buying. Play it safe when buying a bird. |

Yea, I went to a flea market once to buy a bird (a parakeet) and it died a couple days later. Then my friend brought me to a Bird Fair one year for my birthday and I bought 2 parakeets (thats when i got parakeet) and they were really mean and shy. I had a breeder that I used to get my 'Teils from but I moved and Id rather stick with Garage Breeders cause I find that they spend more time with the birds so there much more tamed.
Idk but the ladie who has to find homes for 3 'Teils emailed me back finaly! now if I really wanted to I could adopt all of them but I really dont have the room so im just adopting one, a female. Petras cage can only fit 2 at the most too. I should be going to pick them up like the end of this week-beging of next... we just had a snow in so it depends on the snow when i go. But ill be shure to tell you guys right away when i get her!!!
Oh and I need help figuring out a name for her! I was thinking maybe 3-nit-y (trinity) or Trillion... idk what do you guys think? |

Petra, both names are good, but it depends on what the bird looks like, its personality and such. I am sure you will find just the right name for your new tiel. Good luck and keep us informed. Also provide a pic of birdie. |

I had a cat named Trinity... She likes to 'walk on walls'... she used to run up towards the corner and then bounces off the two walls.. it's quite cool.. but she disappeared one day about seven months old.
Congrats on the new bird.. I hope everything works out for you.. but yes like Cathy mentioned in the other thread.. quarantine the bird first just in case... preferably in a seperate room. |
