Yay for Petra!!!!!!!!  Reply with quote

So ive been working hard on finding a play-mate for Petra. And I think I have a lead Laughing theres a person nearby that has to find a home for 2 cockateils (a female and an unnowned sex teils). I feel that Petra needs a friend now cause hes stopped talking all together and he doesnt wistle as much so I thought if maybe theres another (or 2) cockatiel in the house it might enspire him (idk lol). So ive contacted the person and maybe I can pick them up sometime this weekend!!!
As some of you know I did have a Parakeet a while ago and they loved chattering to eachother so this might be good for him. Very Happy

I hope this helps but.. I was wondering about his behavior. Is he sitting quietly as well? Perhaps there's something wrong with him?? (I can't see this through the computerscreen) If you doubt his health, please consult an avian vet!

I agree with Sue, make sure petra is healthy before getting another bird friend. I'm sure Petra will love the company of another bird. Good luck.

No hes perfectly healthy, he just doesnt sing or talk as much anymore... as if he bored. So I figured maybe another bird would open him up to singing again.

Yea he fine, I just dont want him to get bored... Like I spend 80% of my time with him but he gets really lonly when im not around him so I think another bird would be good for the times im not with him.

This is what I was thinking when I brought Booboo home Smile The little devil was supposed to keep Papug company but turned out to be a handfull himself Wink

My Papug is a little cranky lately too. I think this is because he is molting and growing new feathers.

Booboo just went through a molt too but he is always in a good mood and full of energy Smile

You know, I would still love to bring a new 'tiel home, but I just don't know if Poppy would apreciate it at this point in his life.

How is my little favorite Poppy doing these days? Smile
Oh, I think it would be devastating for him if you'd bring home a new tiel Sad He is so used to be the only tiel at home...

hopefully things will work out for both you and Petra. My philosophy in getting a new bird... is to only get a new bird or two if it's what YOU want, not if you think that it'll keep your original bird company. Like Papug said, she got a second bird, but only turned out that it's just as much of a handful himself!! Just as long as you know that this might not be the solution for little Petra, and you'll be 'stuck' with the new birds and you're prepare to love them just as much.

Yea ive actually for a while now been thinking about it. and Petra will always be number one on my list so theres no worries about that. I got and email from a guy to, well for the past couple of days weve been talking about his African Greys he needs to find homes for and check out the email i got from him today: hello
thanks for the mail.my bird is a female amd it's 19wees old and she is going to come her cage and some other accessories.she have all her health paper.u may be suprise why i am selling her for that price is that i am in need of $65 to take my wife to the hospital but i don't have it so i have to sell her in other to race that money.
i hope u understand what i am saying.get back ASAP.
Im ganna ask him a bunch of questions about the bird and im ganna pick the bird up myself if i deside to get it and give him the money once im sure i have the bird (to make sure its not a rip-off)... idk heres a pic or it:

He sent me the pick along with the email... Ive always wanted a 'Grey... its just the largest bird ive ever cared for was an adult Pelican, so maybe since shes practicly a baby itll all work out. Wink

Oh Petra, please be careful!!!!! This sounds like a typical Nigerian scam!!! I can even tell by the guy's English that he's Nigerian! That photo looks like he just found it on the internet and sent it to you. Look at the colour of the eyes, does that look like a 19 week old grey to you? At 19 weeks their eyes would be dark grey. Please don't send him ANY money! What country does he want you to send the money to? Get a phone number and address and call him. I gaurantee this is a scam. This is a very typical Nigerian scam. They always have some sad sob story about why they need the money fast. Rolling Eyes
