| Chewys story. |

I got Chewy from a bird store, didn't know bout the bird rescues and how full they are. I was told that he was 6 months it turned out that he was at least two yrs of age. I was told he was hand raised ( no way was he hand raised, he's terrified of the syringe).
It also turned out that he was deathly ill. I had been asking questions to them and they said that he was fine and in complete health. So I didn't take him to the vet till he fell off my arm. When I took him to the vet they called me back 2 days later and said I';m surprised your bird ain't dead. He had really low blood calcium low blood protein, anemic, among other things.
My friend helped me bring him back to health by force feeding him. Then we ended up taking him to the university and he was in incubator for three days.
The vet that we took him too initially told my friend that she knew more bout birds then he did. That was a little scarey.
But he's made a complete turn around now, he 's gaining weight, he's playing , he's eatting better.
They had him on Tropi-mix a really good quality of food, but he was only eatting the peanuts.
He is my best friend and therapy pet. |
