I have herd that they do see colour but not as we see it.
Quote from www.arcadia-uk.com
"Birds see colour differently to humans. As well as the three primary colours they can also see in UV. If no UV light, as in natural sunlight, is present the world can look a very different place.
It has been known for some time that regular direct sunlight is also very beneficial to birds health. Unless birds are kept in an aviary, this can be very difficult to achieve. However, the Arcadia bird lamp is specially designed to reproduce the levels of UV light contained in natural sunlight that normal domestic lights just cannot do. The correct lighting can make an enormous difference to your birds health, appearance, appetite and breeding behaviour."
Hope this helps

In other words, birds see more colors than humans do. |
