Yeah, Picasso is running around now demo4LF RV, like I was saying demolishing the place, nothing is sacred, his fav is draging out my underwear when I have guests. Now he's hassling me to let him outside so he can wake the neighbours.

I know a breeder (not the one I bought Skye from) that tried to convince me to buy a sun conure and his price was $600. I wanted an ekkie (which he did not have) or an alexandrine.

Picasso was $1500 but they go for up to $5000, he is a galah sulfur crested cross, they are like the scc in intelligence and the rest is more like the galah (appetite, cuddlyness, etc) I got him because of his personality, he was exactly what I wanted from a bird, social, affectionate and gentle but there is no guarentee all of this breed will be the same as him.

I thought cross breeding like that was illegal - I know some say it is impossible. But I have heard of a cross galah and cockatiel - seen pics and all on another Australian forum. What does he look like? Does he look like a Major Mitchell or does he look like either of his parents? And wow what a price tag!!!

Cross breeding is only illegal in some states(Victoria) if the birds are protected species, where as the Galah and Cockatoo are not protected so,there is no problem with this beautiful hybrid Very Happy As for the Galah and Tiel well Confused

I don't mind if the hybrid happened due to a natural pairing, such as those in the wild. There are wild galah and corellas cross around, and To me, they are just beautiful!! I wouldn't go out of my way to put two together though. As with the Galah and Tiel, I think it's just a freak of nature, and since cockatiel is a smallest species of Cockatoos, galah and tiel is ok in my opinion, but I probably wouldn't try it again though if it did happen to me.
