Did something wrong.. :(  Reply with quote

During the day, Iago Zazu & Flit are on their outdoor gym. That goes perfectly fine but every once in a while, Zazu climbs down & starts his journey of discovery..

That's ok, but this time, he had walked to the rhododendron.. When he saw me, he quickly climbed up the rhododendron.. Sad

I know rhododendron is on the list of poisonous plants ánd that there are a lot of spiders in that plant! (I have a major arachnaphobia!)
I couldn't find a perch at that moment..

So I acted fast (and wrong!) I took the spraybottle and put it on the hard squirt.. That's how I chased Zazu out of the rhododendron..
I am very aware of my mistake..

Luckily Zazu didn't have time to take bites from the rhododendron..

You used the spray bottle for the safety of Zazu. I don't think you had anyother option at the time. I once had an indoor Oleander tree, which is very poisonous. It was out of range of Sammie (M2) but she managed to walk over to it an tried to get one of the leaves that had fallen to the ground. I chased after her, screaming to get away. She was fine, maybe alittle shocked that her mom would yell at her. Needless to say we no longer have the Oleander. I threw that thing away that day. We love these quys so much that even the little bit of negativity toward them hurts us more then it hurts them. They will definitely tell us, or bite us,if the episode upset them. They are pretty resilient. Its our hearts that hurt. You did the right thing at the time. Take Zazu on an outing today and make it up to him and you enjoy yourself too. Karen

Well you had to do what you deemed was necessary at the time. How is Zazu doing afterwards? Poor guy don't know what happened or why but I'm sure he'll be ok, now you have to give him many treats to make up, which I'm sure he won't object at all!!Smile You should cut that plant and destroy it, so it doesn't happen again. Pam

Thanks Pam.. Smile Zazu was just ok afterwards but I felt a bit weak as I didn't go to pick him out of that plant myself. (Thanks to that stupid arachnaphobia! I really hate this!)

I took him on a trip to make it up.. He really likes travelling by train & bus.. Smile

I will ask my friend to cut down that plant & get another plant in place..

Poor Sammie.. But I think it's the best thing you could have done.. If she'd only eaten from that oleander.. Sad I don't want to think about that!

I took Zazu on a trip by train.. Smile He had a good time!

I'll give him a macadamia later today.. And tell it was from you..
I don't think he'll say thank you, as he'll be too busy to stuff himself LOL!

He he he, he really loves them! He also tried a palmnut yesterday, which he first gave a surprised look.. Smile
He then started ripping the nut apart, spending quite some time with it.
It was a great thing to see!
