| How do I give my U2 a bath? |
|
|
I guess my inexperience as a new owner is showing, but here goes nothin'.
Cry Baby's feathers are starting to look dirty on the edges, and the misting with the water bottle does not seem to be helping. How in the world do I get him all snowy white again? He still nips sometimes, especially when it is near feeding time, and something excites him, but we are bonding beautifully even so, and I just adore my former snow white baby. Can someone give me a clue here, please! |

How about sharing showers together? I put a box (watertight) in the shower, and put my birds on it. You can also obtain a shower perch. |

The only way to get him snowy white again is by shampooing him, but if he doesn't like it he probably won't let you. I shampoo my white doves sometimes with baby shampoo (so it doesn't irritate the eyes). Another member here (Cheeta) also washed her cockatoo with baby shampoo and it worked really well |

I took a shower with my cockatoo once and she LOVED it....she jumped around my feet and splashed in the water. she also liked it when I would fill my hands with water and dump it on her back...she also clibed the shower curtain tho and now there are a few holes. |

Hi everyone! I finally made it back - no I have not given up on my birds. FAR from it!! I will fill in the gaps on my home page, but - to summarize, I now have 2 U2's
and
an 8 month African Gray Parrot. Not too crazy am I? Cry Baby has progressed into the sweetest bird I could ask for! Jules, I have only had for one week, so we are still going thru a major adjustment period, but he is going to be just fine. (I already get LOADS of kisses from him) I do have a few new questions on African Grays though. Does anybody here have hands on experience with them? My little lady (Gigi) has chewed off almost all of her feathers in the last few weeks, and has no red left for a tail at all. All that remains are stubby little feathers, and down like ones all over her body. Any ideas???? |
