|
|
I see that this forum isn't looked at very often but thought I would post here..
Does anybody here keep a Major Mitchell's cockatoo? They are beautiful birds and I would love to own one but have heard they make bad pets.. can anybody give me any advice?

I have no idea. i know that cockatoos are very difficult birds. need a strong hand for education. they know how to manipulate well and if you give in too much, they can be very difficult.
if you never have had birds at all, ,i strongly recommend you NOT to start with toos.
otherwise, if you already have experience with parrots, than you know how they are. all you have to remember is that a too is more and does the things stronger than a parrot.
i have 2 salomon toos. lovely birds, but also need to be kept with strong education, to avoid that they become the boss.
by the way, Sue, the forumowner has this cockatoo. i am sure she can give you much more info. |
