Hi Pam, my M2 allows me to cut her nails and also file them but I hand raised her and she is very trusting of me. My two adopted Too's I have to trick them. I give them an almond(or anything they are fond of that day) and while they stand and eat it I am usually able to take the tip off of a couple of nails. The only problem with this is it takes a few days before I can get all the nails trimmed. I also heard where a dremil is the best thing to use but I think the sound may bother my Too's. Hopefully in another month when I take them for their yearly check-up they'll get a better trim and I won't be the bad quy. Karen

Well, they don't really ALLOW it.. But, after following the five step protocol I wrap them in a towel (step five) and trim their nails.
They are doing pretty well with that!

No, they don't get mad.. They are just agitated while they are wrapped in the towel..
But not afterwards! Perhaps a bit more quiet..

LOL-My guys actually turn their backs on me and give no kisses or any affection towards me..they hate to be toweled but won't let me have their feet for more than a minute otherwise. I just tried the almond and they toss the almond and fly away from me or the ones that can't fly scream at me and pull their feet away. So I guess it's time to start making the vet appts.....lol (snots)lol Pam

Hey Pam! Can't you towel your fids, and take them to things? Then explain what it is, and have them feel something. Reward them, and give them a treat while they're in the towel.
Also, try to reward them by scratching while they're in the towel.
Perhaps this helps to get them used to towels!

It's a pity I live so far away, else I could groom your flock. Zazu wants to stay for a while as a 'payment for grooming' then! LOL!

He he he my guys used to be the same, but now they're quite ok with it. Zazu even talks while toweled now! (I'm Zazu, Hi Zazu, how're you Zazu?)
He'll bob his head and saw cute things.. He also enjoys cuddles while toweled now. (He used to HATE that towel!)
He also eats while toweled now, he used to be too stressy to eat..

Perhaps an idea for the next trim? Smile
