Hi everyone. I have decided to buy a Galah. Would you please give me some opinions between the male and females.
I have talked to vets, and done some online research, but I would like to have info from people who have kept them.
Thanks

Welcome Lori! Do you have others in your flock? You have great taste in wanting these rambunkeous little guys! I have a male & a female rb and I truly think the male is more out going, where the females tend to be more shier than the males. They do some of the most cutest antics. They are very entertaining and will enlighten you in which ever sex you chose. They communicate by nibbling on you and some people tend to call this being nippy but it's just their way of talking with you. You will love this specie. Please keep us informed of your decision, you can't go wrong in chosing either one..or do as I did and get both, it'scalled double the fun!lol Good Luck! Pam |

Hi Pam,
Thanks for the reply. I do have a white faced cockateil named moto, and I have care for a Double yellow head for friends who were in Iraq. I first saw these birds 6 months ago in an aviary in Florida, and fell in love with them. I have been doing my research ever since. I just can't decide male or female.
Oh what a dilemma!! |

Hi Pam,
I would like to buy a Galah soon. I enjoyed caring for the double yellow. Although when he first came to us, he was very hyper, and shaky being in a new place. I think he thought he was abondaned. He wouldnt have anything to do with me at first, but loved apples, so I used that as a bribe..LOL He slowly came around. All in all he was a joy, and a good talker once he got used to us. He was with us for 18 months. He was quite nippy for a few months as well. |

Hi Lori!
I don't know about galahs but I think the way of raising is very important than gender.. |
