PERCH is okay for life  Reply with quote

Good day brothers and sisters

i have a cockatoo but i keep all the time on a t-sshaped perch with his toys and food and water,,hes clipped but insists to fly then fall on the ground and roam around the living room (i keep dangerous items away ) tears or cuts a paper or two,he spoilt my cell once before ,,,,,,, then jumps on the sofa and back on his stand and when im around i take him on my hand and stands on my desk while i work on the laptop,, is this okay or he has to have a cage and some time outside and at night inside the cage,,personally cage for him is quite big and i dnt have that much space

looking forward for all ur comments my dear friends

I personally would never leave any of my birds out when I'm unable to supervise them for a length of period of time. I think there are just too many hidden danger in our home with a bird that can do so much damage to the house, and to himself again.
There are things such as cords and stuff that if he gets his beak on will be fatal to him. I would strongly recommend you getting a cage and make the room for him. I have big massive cages, and they take up a lot of space, but I would rather know that they are ok when we're not there then having lots of living space for myself.
Also there are things that you might not realised are dangerous for your little friend.
Even so, a t-stand is kinda boring for a cockatoo, so when they get bored, they will make themselves 'useful' by entertaining themselves with whatever they can spot! not a good idea to have him there unsupervise especially once he gets comfortable with the surrounding and are more game about exploring the surroundings.
