That is so cool! Haven't found that option in my photo program yet! I don't think it's available so..
I am looking forward seeing your photos!

| Hello riffmax |

Hello and welcome Firs tlet me say that you will love this sight and second you will relly love the people who dewll in this sight. They all are so full of information and together they are really awsome
I was catching up on things and reading all the post to you and I can say I agree with all that has been said. I have amazons cockatiels and a sun conure and I asked the same questions when I first got all my birds.
I belong to another group and they seem to measure things and I just don't do that. I may one day wish I had but to me the bird wasn't measuring out in the forrest years ago were they? I think as long as the bird gets out of it's cage and gets plenty of excersie then you don't have to worry so much. I give fresh fruits and veggies everday along with seed mix too. All my birds get out of there cages in the morning and stay out till right before I leave to go to work about 2:00 pm
I'm like you i give mine things that I eat except for the tihings I know for sure they aren't suppose to have. my sun conure sits at the table with us at dinner time and usually gets to sample what we are eating. I take food to the amazon and let him try things too.
I like to think of them as kids and I would give my kids a taste of what I eat. I do change the way I cut veggies sometimes because they can be picky, but mine like to hold everything so I cut it small enough for them to hold.
Anyway welcome and we look forward to hearing more from you. Don't feel bad I still can't post pictures myself I leave it to the Queen Bird to do that and she does a wonderful job Maybe if you learn you can slowly explaine it to me Dana |

Here's my largest on-line photo gallery, Sue - but it's a mix of stuff - not just bird oriented (although that may change a little!)! - btw, what photo editing program do YOU use?
http://www.shutterstock.com/gallery.mhtml?id=3472
Dana - it seems the picture function is in the homepage section. Pretty self-explanatory - just make sure the file is not too big. I think 100KB is the max.
Weekend update on CJ - damn near knocked me over to get to his first bath - too funny! Pictures soon! Also, spent some one on one time on the floor - spread out an old tablecloth and let him wander around - he seemed to like that and after we did that, he seemed much more relaxed and content. I'd recommend that to anyone!
Question of the day: I have heard that dogs will remember previous owners, even years later and that allowing them to see that previous owner can be bad because they think they're "going home". Is there anything about that with birds?
I ask because CJ's "birth parents" (LOL - my own private joke) are family members and I was wondering if it would be emotionally stressful for CJ to see them again. |

Nope, I can't get it to work for me but Ive sent in my pictures and they all turned out real nice. The Adm. does a great job
All my birds love their bath time too. My zons have the best time I think swinging and hanging upside down while I spray them. They don't like to get in the little tubs I have but boy they love the misting bottle or the hose put on fine mist
I also had wanted to let the previous owners see Cleo who I adopted last year but the lady said it would be too stressful on Cleo. I kind of think that might be true after seeing Cleo's reaction to seeing another sun conure whom she thought was her best friend "Sunny" that we lost last year. I don't dare let Cleo see Newbe anymore because of the way she reacted. |

Hi!
I use photoshop from adobe & sometimes neopaint for short gif movies..
I think if a dog would recognize any previous owners, a bird certainly will too! Birds are so smart..
I am not sure if it would cause emotional stress.. But since you'll be his flockmate, he will refer to you.
Try to be calm?
(I am not sure it works, but I just thought it would work this way?) |

I'm surprised Photoshop doesn't have a frame tool! Hmm.
CJ is doing fine. I tried a version of the treat string (or whatever its called). Didn't have any string, so I used a bamboo skewer. He's been awfully picky about his treats, but this was pretty interesting! Still trying everything to see what he likes.
I think he's mad at us! After last weekend when he was such a sweetie pie, we had to get back to work and I don't think that's gone over so well! LOL! He's been a little snappy. But he gets over it and then he's fine. Pretty much as soon as he's away from what we call The Girlfriend, he's not so possessive! The Girlfriend is one particular toy he seems quite enamored with!
Hubby made him a swinging perch last weekend, which he just loves. Last night, I got him to "fly home", which was neat. He gets so pleased with himself when he does something like that! I'd like him to fly TO me, but hubby is worried he would develop a habit of flying to us unasked - so I think we'll table that idea! |

I think I am just not handy with photoshop.. I need to learn how to work with it properly, LOL!
The bamboo skewer is also wonderful to use. It's even safer to use, especially when not supervised. I have heard warnings of people having their birds 'hung' from the string..
Flying to you would be nice.. You can reward if he comes on cue.. When he comes on his own, just ignore him.
Or wouldn't this work? |

A friend of mine at work said she raised up her sheet to say good morning to her birds and there was one hung with a sting from the blanket. she just cried telling me about it. I tell ya you just never know what will happen.
I have photoshop and boy am I having a time learning it. Someone on anothe sight was helping me reduce pics down to correct pixle size so I could send them, boy did I get lost Sometimes I can do it sometimes I can't. This computer thing is way over my head |

OK - now that I've heard that horror story, I don't want to cover CJ at night anymore - is that ok? Will he still get good rest? |

gawd, that's a horrible story . I've been checking my bird's covers every night since I read it, making sure that he can't possibly reach any strings! |
